Wayne S. Forrey, the company’s founder and product inventor, contracted lip cancer in 1983.  Although Wayne is a non-smoker, doctors attributed his cancer to sunburned lips.  After successful lip reconstruction surgery, Wayne began using lip balm everyday to protect and moisturize his lips. 

Wayne became dissatisfied with the current industry standard lip balm dispensers because the knurled disk base would unintentionally twist and rotate while in your pants pocket, jacket, purse or luggage…thereby mashing the balm into the cap, causing the cap to come off…making a gooey mess.  Most people respond, “Yes, that has happened to me too!”

To solve this problem, Wayne invented and developed a much better lip balm dispenser system.  BALMSHOT is the result of this innovative effort.  BALMSHOT looks and feels like a standard shotgun shell because it is made in the USA of actual shotgun shell components.  The interior of BALMSHOT is “Loaded with Lip Balm…Not Buckshot!”  All of our Lip Balms contain US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved SPF sunscreens, beeswax and natural oils manufactured to the highest quality standards in the industry.  BALMSHOT is ideally suited for harsh outdoor conditions and is manufactured in an FDA approved laboratory.  Our company is dedicated to lip balm and dispensers that work!
